Three fishermen are feared dead after their boat capsized in L.Victoria at  Litare beach , Suba North sub-county.

According to the chief of Kaksingri west Samuel Obado, the three fishermen were accompanied by one other colleague when the strong winds emerged forcing the boat to capsize.

Addressing the press in his office, homa bay county police commander Marius Tum noted that those who drowned are Martin Kieti Olandon aged 41 yrs, Joseph Kososi Juma 33 yrs and Nyangope alias Jasirati who is said to be about 30yrs of age and a Tanzanian as Dan Otieno Oluoch survived the tragedy when the other fishermen came to his rescue.

As a result, Tum noted that the security officers are partnering with the members of the community from this area and the divers to assist in retrieving the bodies.

At the same time, Tum urged the residents to be calm as the whole process of the search begun, however, he appealed to the fishermen to put on life jackets and always look at the weather pattern before going to the lake for their daily business.
