SilverStone launches flights to Kisumu.

Silverstone Air Services launched at Kisumu International Airport.
There is a new  bird in Kisumu Air Space ,on Tuesday  Silverstone Air Service launched it’s    flights to Kisumu.The airline stated that they will  be providing commercial flights from Nairobi to Kisumu and Ukunda.
Silverstone is scheduled to begin  direct  flights  between Kisumu and Mombasa in November.During the launch  Silverstone Air managing director Mohamed Somow said that the charges for a one-way ticket between Kisumu and Mombasa will be approximately Ksh 10,000.
Passengers will also be charged Sh9,000 for a return ticket from Nairobi to Kisumu and Ukunda. They will offer two return trips per day to Kisumu and a daily return flight to Ukunda.

“By November we will doing flights to Malindi, HomaBay and Lamu. We will also be looking to do direct flights between Kisumu and Mombasa,” said Sumow.

“Our research in the market has shown there is demand for the direct service between the two cities.”said Sumow

For passengers flying between Kisumu and Mombasa there will be a stop-over in Nairobi.

This comes after discussions between Kisumu County Governor Prof Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o and Kenya Airports Authority officials at his office to deliberate on the development of Kisumu International Airport.
Some of the issues discussed included the  expansion of the airports runways, construction of a modern commercial VIP launch in partnership with the county government of Kisumu, introduction of cargo handling facility which will improve horticulture in the county and finally benchmarking the airports charges with those of Nairobi and Mombasa.
