The Kenya Film Classification Board chairperson Dr. Ezekiel Mutua took to social media to condemned award-winning Kenya’s boy group Sauti Sol’s latest music video “Melanin” featuring Nigeria’s Patoranking.He termed it as the video as gross and not suitable for children.
Through a statement released today KFCB Chief Executive Officer Ezekiel Mutua said that Sauti Sol released the video without following content production and distribution regulations provided in Part II of the Film and Stage Plays Act, Cap 222 of the Law of Kenya.
This is not the first time that Sauti Sol have had their song receive criticism from the KFCB CEO in 2014 their “Nishike” hit song that attracted alot of criticism from the moral police was banned.
KFCB has not banned the video,but warned any media station of airing the song during the watershed period. KFCB called on artists to be responsible with their content
