Governor Nyong’o signs a MOU with KMTC to support the service delivery at the Institute’s centers

Kisumu County Governor, Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o signed a MOU with Kenya medical training college (KMTC) to support the growth and service delivery at the Institute’s centers within the county.
 
This MOU, the 21st so far signed between KMTC and county governments recognizes the role that counties play in relation to the constitutional responsibility of health services provision.
 
During the ceremony, KMTC Board Chairman Prof. Philip Kaloki informed the Governor that the institution is working on a formula that will create a special enrolment desk to ensure that the county is guaranteed of 30% of enrollment in six colleges of KMTC within the county
 
Governor Ngong’o urged KMTC to set up a research structure that will address Kenyan Health issues.
 
The KMTC has also been working in a support arrangement with Chronos group from Italy who are also in the county for partnership discussions.
 
The tripartite partnership seeks to promote programme for acquisition of new medical equipment, equipment maintenance and training on the use of the equipment.
 
Chronos group has a very solid background on the supply, maintenance and training on medical engineering with a presence in over 200 European hospitals having delivered over 1.5 million devices.
