Bungoma High Court on Thursday suspended the 16% VAT on fuel following a case filed by a group of youth.
This comes after a High court in Nairobi declined to suspend the 16% VAT a case that was filed by COTU and activist Okiya Omtatah on Monday.

The petitioners under Sumawe Youth Group in Bungoma through advocate Ken Amondi,argued that the matter was an issue of public interest and that Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich flouted core constitutional principles defying parliament’s move.
The matter will be mentioned on the 12th of September in Kisumu.
