Leading retailer Naivas supermarket is excited to announce its
participation in the WRC Safari Rally after its 19 years hiatus through sponsorship of one of the cars. The car number 43 a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X will be driven by Pietro Canobbio a Kilifi based Kenyan who has previously participated in several local circuits.
“We are thrilled to be part of this amazing world event that is making a grand return to the country. To put it into perspective, the last time WRC Safari Rally was held, naivas only had 2 outlets; Naivasha and Ronald Ngala and today we stand at 72 outlets strong.
That is how long we have missed the thrill that the event presents,” quipped Willy Kimani, Chief Commercial Officer.
“It is therefore very exciting that we are able to sponsor a Kenyan driver to fly high our flag because as we have always retorted, we are homegrown and our DNA is Kenyan. Being part of this moment is truly a testament to our national pride,” added Willy Kimani.
As a family business that prides itself as being the heart of Kenyan families, we know this is indeed a family event with parents introducing their children to a Kenyan tradition and for that we shall be running a campaign dubbed #ANaivasSafari where our shoppers will also get the chance to enjoy amazing offers as we serve adrenaline in this year’s rally championship.
