Ahero-Katito road in Nyando Sub County that was closed nearly a fortnight ago will be opened to motorists on Friday next week.
This was communicated to the press by Sylvance Osele, a director at the Presidency Delivery Unit when he visited the site.
The road was closed at Ayweyo area to allow for the construction of a bridge by the contractors working on the Ahero-Isebania road.
Osele says the contractor had worked on another access road to allow motorists to pass but that again was affected by the ongoing rains.
Motorists the opted to use Awasi-Katito road which was only used for two days before it worn out. Instead, motorists were then forced to use Kericho road before heading to Sondu.
Osele says the contractors had assured them that by Friday next week, the works will be completed and motorists will use the bridge.
He says top government official are getting daily briefs on the status of the road based on the report they get from the site.
Osele says the public has suffered a lot in terms of time taken during the journey and promised that the miseries are soon coming to an end.
