Kisumu County Government has partnered with Maseno University, Kisumu Campus to set up a call centre to deal with queries pertaining to COVID-19 pandemic.
Governor Anyang Nyong’o says the centre will give real time information to the public once they seek for clarification.
Nyong’o called upon the public to make use of the call free toll number to reach out to the medics’ with any question pertaining to the virus.
Speaking when he unveiled the centre in Kisumu, Governor Nyong’o says there will be medical personnel working in shifts at the centre on a 24 hours basis.
The public are required to make calls free on 0800720575 to get assistance where necessary.
Nyong’o says the team that will man the call centre are medical students at Maseno University pursuing medicine and are in their fifth and sixth year.
He says the call centre will link the public with the county COVID-19 pandemic team whenever there is a suspect case.
Governor Nyong’o says the centre is also key to place the county ahead on its status and offering information on prevention of the virus.
