Four artisanal minors last evening died while 16 others escaped with injuries during a mining exepedition at Osiri Matanda, Nyatike in Migori county . According to the area chief David Oula, the incident occurred when the miners were almost leaving the shaft. He said the walls on the mines collapsed. It took the locals close to four hours and at about 6 in the evening four bodies where retrieved and taken to Migori level four morgue. Migori artisanal Miners Association chairman Kephas Ojuka said they are yet to establish what weakened the walls on the mines despite the strong reinforcement they have put in place for the same. Last year 6 artisanal miners perishes at Macalder Mines in an almost similar incident.
