Eight escape from Isolation as victims decry poor living conditions at the Isolation centers


Migori County rapid response team have managed to arrest one of the eight Coronavirus suspects who escaped from a quarantine facility at Mabera in Kuria West Sub County on Tuesday night. 

The suspect, according to County health executive Dr. Isca Oluoch was arrested after locals raised an alarm as he attempted to sneak into neighboring country Tanzania. Dr. Oluoch said the eight jumped through the school fence during a heavy downpour and authorities manning the facility not realized their disappearance when they went to lock the doors. 

She addded that their rapid response team enhanced search for the other seven insisting to press charges on the patient for exposing lives of Kenyans to risk.

However, a senior health officer privy of the happenings told press that the panicked after three new coronavirus cases were reported at the quarantine centre on Tuesday.

 The 8 were among the 13 who were in the same room when three new cases were recorded and this might have caused the anxiety. They were about to be released following the completion of their 14 day isolation when their ‘room mates’ tested positive.

 Police are still tracing the seven after establishing their contacts with Dr. Oluoch intimating that the suspect will be charged for endangering lives.
