Residents of Masogo Nyangoma in Muhoroni lines up to receive free mask.

Residents of Masogo Nyangoma ward in Muhoroni Sub County benefitted from the ongoing food and face masks distribution by Ken Obura Foundation.

Nahashon Ngwena the coordinator of the foundation says they have so far visited close to ten wards in the county.

Ngwena says that the distribution of the free face masks will continue until all the 35 wards are covered.

“We were giving food to areas where floods have hit hard but all residents of Kisumu will get face masks each,” he said.

Ngwena says Corona virus war is yet to be over adding that they have noticed very many locals still have no access to face masks.

“When you walk around the county, you will meet people still walking without masks, these are the people we are targeting,” he said.

Kamswa South sub location assistant chief Jack Omondi says the masks given have come as a relief to many since most of them keep reusing even dirty masks.

Omondi says as a government representative he will continue to create awareness among the people on the need to follow ministry of health directives.

Locals drawn from Kamachaga, Orago, Milenya, Sanda, Wambi, Okwach who got the assistance welcomed the relief but continued to decry neglect by their elected leaders.
