Homa Bay County Governor Cyprian Awiti on Thursday met a consultancy team (ACAL) from the Kenya Urban Support Programme to assess eligible county compliance with Urban Institutional Grant (UIG) Minimum Conditions, Urban Development Grant (UDG) Minimum Conditions and UDG Performance Standards in order to calculate UIG/UDG allocations.
The Governor urged the team to review the criteria for support to ensure the county is able to obtain support based on population index and current development status.
ACAL consulting assured the county boss they will establish a performance baseline for 45 counties, Homa Bay inclusive.
Kenya Urban Support Programme aims to establish and strengthen urban institutions to deliver improved infrastructure and services.
