Residents of Sagama,Angugo and other of Nyatike Lower Kuja irrigation scheme have come up to raise their complain for failure to be compensated by Government through National Irrigation board for the parcels of land the irrigation took to implement the scheme.

Addressing the press, the residents led by Okeyo Oremo said that some of them have not been compensated by the Government after the Lower Kuja irrigation scheme took their land to help implement the irrigation of rice farms on the stretch of the river..

The angry and devastated farmers said some of them have not yet received any compensation from the Government.Their efforts to get compensated have not borne any fruits as they continue to taken in circles.

They said some of them released their lands and vacated for the project to be implemented but so far they have not been compensated from 2009 to date.

However the engineer in charge of the irrigation scheme Nesline Ogwe said they only compensate the land where tunnels were formed and passed and not the whole parcels of land as alleged by the farmers.
