Residents of Kakrao village in Suna East sub county Migori County have expressed fear after rampant incidents of insecurity have caused fear and cold among them.
The residents said that the area leadership led by ward member of county assembly George Owiti has not come out to address the rising cases of murder in cold blood that are witnessed almost every week.
They said that the area chief Wilfred Ogolla Onyango was also blamed for the rising cases of insecurity that have claimed more than 10 people in a span of two weeks.
The residents want a police station erected in the area to help tame the rising cases and also want street lights mounted in various strategic places that they feel are hideouts for the criminal gangs during darkness.
They claimed that the Kakrao market stall that was erected many years ago is unused and many criminal gangs are now using it as hideouts and places where they plan their ill motives on the innocent residents.
They were speaking to the press during the burial service of the slain teacher Kevin Owuor who was found murdered one week ago near his home during the curfew hours.
