Residents of Nyahera in Kisumu North have called for speedy investigations into the killing of a primary school pupil over the weekend.
Led by Thomas Kotieno, the residents say the killings have been numerous in the recent past.
Kotieno says the village where the incident happened are now living in fear and it is time for the police to move with speed and bring the perpetrators to book.
Only last year, a student was also killed from the same family in what the locals now suspect is witchcraft.
Kotieno condoled with the family who are now in grief following the brutal murder of the young girl whose body was found dumped next to their home just a day after disappearing.
He says the killing is giving a bad name to Nyahera people who have lived over the years peacefully.
Kotieno says the government must use its machineries to get to the root cause of the incident.
He says the community will not just sit back and watch as its children gets wiped away year in year out.
Kotieno who is a front runner for the Kisumu North ward by election which was postponed by IEBC due to Corona Virus says the residents will not leave any stone unturned to unearth who is behind the killings.
