OBADO ISSUES ‘TRAVEL ADVISORY’ CLOSES ALL MARKETS AFTER 1ST CASE REPORTED IN HOMABAY COUNTY

Migori governor Okoth Obado has urged residents of Migori county to consider restricting their movements beyond the county. This comes after 1 covid-19 case was reported in the neighboring Homabay county and several others reported in Tanzania, across the borders . 

The county boss said the rate at which the virus is spreading is alarming an it would be wise to tighten precautionary measures as its not far from reaching Migori. 

The 1st COVID 19 case in homabay was reported among 14 people who had travelled from Nairobi to attend a burial function in Karachuonyo as was reported . Obado at the same issued a stern warning to traders flouting social gathering policies and going to market places that they shall not be spared in the coming weeks. 

Homabay county commissioner David Kipkemei has said that the 14 who traveled upcountry will be taken to court once their quarantine period is over.
