War against Corona Virus was intensified in Migori County after Kenya Pipeline distributed over 11,000 litters of sanitizers in two Kuria Constituencies. Kuria East and Kuria West Constituencies received each at least 5,000 litters with another sanitizers.
Each of the constituencies has reported Corona Virus case a situation which has prompted the government to reinforce distribution of the sanitizers in the two areas bordering Tanzania.
Kuria East Member of Parliament Marwa Kitayama while receiving the sanitizers at Kegonga on Thursday thanked the government for recognizing the need to keep Migori on safe due to its proximity to Tanzania towns which has reportedly recorded surging number of Corona Virus infections.
Marwa asked the locals not to welcome relatives in their homes who are spread up to Tanzania till a time when the virus will be contained.
The MP however challenged those claiming that Jubilee led government is doing nothing to control the spread of the virus to assess the measures fronted by the government in every Kenyan village.
Kitayama said the work done by security team and Nyumba Kumi network to restrict people movement in Kuria Sub-Counties was truly unprecedented.
Speaking separately at Mabera Deputy County Commissioners, Kuria West Member of Parliament Mathias Robi said the government should increase security patrol at the border and provide more sanitizers to Kuria Sub Counties due to the positions.
Robi also challenged the residents to strictly follow the ministry of health rules of social distance, handwashing, sanitizing and use of face masks as way of slowing down the spread of Covid-19.
