Landslide Kills 10 in DRC.

Officials reported Wednesday that ten people had died in a landslide after heavy rain slammed eastern DR Congo.

The affected area is conflict-torn region where hundreds perished last week following devastating flooding.

According to regional administrator Edgard Kasombolene, the landslide happened Tuesday night in the village of Miringati in the Lubero region of North Kivu province, leaving 10 people dead.

Over 400 people were killed last week in South Kivu, according to an official toll, after disastrous flooding in the province’s Kalehe territory. 

Lubero police commander Colonel Jean Habamungu said the search for survivors was ongoing .
