Real Valladolid snatched a 3-1 win at home against new champions Barcelona on Tuesday as the hosts secured a crucial victory in their battle to remain in La Liga.

The victory took Valladolid up to 17th position and out of the relegation zone, with the club owned by former Real Madrid and Brazil striker Ronaldo facing Almeria and Getafe, both of whom are fighting to stay up, in their next two games.

An Andreas Christensen own goal and a Cyle Larin penalty helped the hosts into a two-goal lead at the break.

Gonzalo Plata made it three in the 73rd minute before Robert Lewandowski pulled a goal back late on for Barca.

Xavi made changes to his side, with Pablo Torres handed a first LaLiga start and Marcos Alonso coming in at centre-back.

However, all plans went out the window when Christensen headed into his own net in the second minute.

Things went from bad to worse in the 22nd minute when Larin scored from the spot after Eric Garcia had given a penalty away.

Barca had chances, especially in the first half, but goalkeeper Jordi Masip was in good form, keeping out Raphinha and Christensen.
