12 Arrested With Crude Weapons In Migori


Communications of Kenya employee Paul Kiage stabbed and robbed by known assailants hours to Migori ODM party primaries.According to the police report, Kiage who is the husband to the incumbent Kanyasa Hon. Jacky Paul Ongoro was from Jangoe area heading to Bondo Kosiemo at around 8pm when three men attacked him. He was cut on the head and stabbed on both back and thighs and robbed him Ksh. 250,000.Kiage was rushed to Ungoe dispensary and later transferred to St. Camillus Mission Hospital for further treatment. 


Migori police also arrested 12 suspects armed with crude weapons on Monday dawn as security beefed up in Orange Democratic Movement primaries.Bondo Nyironge OCS Isaac Omachi said they were alerted that the suspects, whom he called “political goons” were spotted in two vehicles and wanted to disrupt voting before it starts.ODM party decided to conduct nominations for Suna West MP, Woman Representative and 40 wards seats across Migori county.Peter Masara, Suna West MP after casting his vote at Oruba Mixed Secondary School confirmed peaceful voting process and lauded the security for bringing peace, especially the previous night as they were afraid of chaos.His sole rival, Joseph Ndiege, voted at Bondo Nyironge Primary School and cited that security officers have been intimidating his supporters, but said he was confident of winning.ODM party decided to carry out voting in Suna West after an opinion poll showed Masara and Ndiege only had a 7 per cent gap between them.
