Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha has signalled that schools may reopen before January


Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha has declared that learning institutions would reopen soon as Kenya continues to register a reduction in the daily cases of coronavirus infections.

 Magoha, who was speaking during an inspection of Mawego Technical Training Institute in Rachuonyo North, said that learning institutions would reopen soon adding tha his ministry has faith in the local artisans that they have the capability of producing more than 600 thousand school desk by the end of October at a cost of 1.9 billion.

Magoha warned those who have the mind of swindling the funds saying that mechanism are all in place that who ever does that will be arrested and charged.

He asked teachers to prepare psychologically to resume their duties as soon all all the infrastructure will be in place and the curve shall have flattened to allow the resumption of learning in all schools.

Magoha who was accompanied by Homabay county boss Cyprian Awiti appealed to county governments to assist artisans with tools to make them be eligible to secure the tenders and deliver in good time.
