By EDDY NYADWA, NAIROBI – FORD-Kenya party has expelled Tongaren MP Eseli Simiyu, Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi and nominated MCA Cynthia Mutere from the party. The trio are said to be the masterminds of a failed ouster of party leader Moses Wetangula.
In a resolution passed by the party’s National Executive Council and Parliamentary Group on Monday, August 17, the party recommended to the general council to effect the changes.
Acting Secretary-General Millicent Abudho cautioned party members and supporters not to engage with the trio on any matters of the political outfit.
“We want to assure our party members and supporters that the Simba party is intact and stronger than ever before, we caution them never to engage the trio on FORD Kenya party matters,” said Abudho.
In the failed coup, Simiyu and his allies had accused Wetangula of failing to offer leadership and party position on national issues. Wamunyinyi was installed the new party leader and Eseli remained as the Secretary General
On Monday the party was categorical that indiscipline will not be tolerated. Consequently, the party organs resolved to have a General Council and National Delegates Congress before 2021.
