
Local brewer, Kenya Breweries Limited has launched Baileys Delight, a drink that blends cream and the luscious tastes of honey. It’s a product that offers consumers a unique taste experience from the Original Irish Cream maker.
Speaking during the launch, Kenya Breweries Limited managing director, Jane Karuku stated that the new innovation reinforces the company’s commitment to expand consumers’ experience within the beverage alcohol market. “Innovation is a key pillar of our growth strategy: we are innovating constantly to address changing tastes and preferences across a diverse category of consumers in the Kenyan market. ” She said.
“Innovation brands have significantly contributed top KBL’s business growth in recent years. In the half year to December 2019, innovations grew by 50 per cent and now contribute 17 per cent of the company sales” Karuku added.

Kenya is the second market across Diageo to launch Baileys Delight after Guinness in Nigeria. T he cream has 15 per cent alcohol by volume (ABV). It is available in 750 ml bottle and 350ml bottle packs, retailing at a recommended price of Sh1,350 and Sh650, respectively.
According to KBL Head of Innovations Joyce Kibe, the company continues to innovate to meet the ever changing taste and preferences of consumers. “ this innovation will appeal to aspirational male and female consumers. Baileys delight becomes the latest innovation in our portfolio since the launch of Sikera cider, Hop House 13, Guinness Smooth, Red Star Vodka and Tusker Premium Ale brands” she said.
The drink is available in bars, restaurants, supermarkets and Jumia party e-commerce platforms.
