It is sad for residents in Migori County as their Senator Ben Oluoch passed on while at the MP Shah Hospital today around 12 midnight. The Migori Senator had earlier worked at Royal Media Services which he later ventured into the political Scene in which he became the Senator for Migori County.

Through a family Spokesperson Mark Okundi, he told sources that the late Migori Senator was diagnosed with throat cancer which was quite battle but unfortunately there was a mistake in the previous diagnose in which he found he had had throat cancer much later. But sadly when he got to know the real state of his health it was rather late.

The late Senator’s death just came up after two months ago the late Baringo South Member Of Parliament Grace Kipchoim also died of cancer.

It’s a very sad day for the family who are currently living in Kitengela. And it has been a sad journey for them especially when they heard about the news. The late Senator had a lot of potential to do while he was still serving his term in Migori. One can only imagine what future plans that the Late Senator was destined to do in Migori County.

Various leaders were in attendance like Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo, David Osiany among others with the Late Senators’ family. The ex-radio presenter was elected on the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party ticket and took over from Wilfred Machage who opted to vie for the Kuria West parliamentary seat. The ODM party described the departed member as a dedicated leader whose eagerness and urge to serve the people of Migori was cut short by Cancer.

On behalf of our party leader Raila Odinga, the entire leadership and family of the ODM party, I join in mourning a great man, a journalist and a father who loved his job and family. The ODM party shall stand with the family of the late Senator Ben Oluoch in every way during this difficult time of grief,” the party said
