Cech, 37, who spent 11 years as Chelsea’s gloveman (2004-15), is due to finish his playing career with the Gunners at the end of the season.
Chelsea have been without a technical director since Michael Emenalo’s resignation in November 2017. Director Marina Granovskaia has taken on the majority of his old duties since he departed.
Cech has started only ten of Arsenal’s 14 games in the competition. It’s not clear if the manager will revert to No.1 Bernd Leno or stick with Cech for the final in Baku. Cech is rather quiet about the issue. He is determined to face his former side in the upcoming finals.
The club has made little secret of their desire to welcome back the ‘golden generation’. This includes the likes of John Terry, Frank Lampard and Cech.
