The 2019 Rugby World Cup is the ongoing ninth Rugby World Cup, the quadrennial rugby union world championship. The tournament is being held in Japan from 20 September to 2 November. This is the first time the tournament has been held in Asia and outside the traditional Tier 1 rugby nations.

The world cup has seen off teams like: hosts Japan, Wales, New Zealand, Fiji, Namibia, Australia, Scotland, Tonga, Ireland, France, USA, Uruguay, Canada,Georgia, Italy, Russia, Samoa and  Argentina.

The eight teams to reach the quarter finals were, England, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, South Africa, Wales, France and Ireland. After a competitive quarter finals Japan were seen off by a great South African team 26-3 the score sheet. England knocked out Australia 40-16, New Zealand edged off Ireland 46-14 and Wales put to a stop the competitive France 20-19.

The semi final was played by South Africa Vs Wales and New Zealand Vs England. The mouth watering clash between England and New Zealand which saw each team convert only one try a piece with New Zealand conceding 4 penalties in their own half. With this they could not afford to pass the tactical England team which saw them off with a 19-7 win. South Africa saw off Wales in a thrilling clash with a narrow win of 19-16.

This means that Wales and New Zealand will be left to battle it  out for third place while the South Africans will play England in the finals which will see a repeat of the 2007 world cup.
