Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture, Mwangi Kiunjuri’s move to standardize the price of potatoes to be sold per kilo at the retail and wholesale level has stirred different reactions from the citizens.
Speaking to Lolwe TV and Dala FM on a phone call, a professor in Agricultural Department at Maseno University, Prof. Mathews Dida praised the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture Mwangi Kiunjuri’s move saying it will boost potato farmers’ income on their farm produce.
Potato traders at Jubilee market in Kisumu either expressed different discomfort opinion concerning CS Kiunjuri’s move saying it will affect their business as this will require them to acquire weighing machines before going on with their normal business.
