
Kisumu County Governor Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o on May 14, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Council of Governor’s and the Ministry of Health on Cuban Doctors.
Governor Nyong’o said his administration has recorded notable strides in the health sector and they are working closely with other stakeholders to ensure specialized medical services are brought closer to the citizens.
He said his administration fully support the acquisition of 100 Cuban medical specialists by the Kenyan Government and training of 50 Kenyan medical doctors in Cuba.
The Cuban doctors will work together with Kenyan doctors to provide medical services to the people.
Nyong’o said his government has invested a lot in primary healthcare by equipping Kisumu County health centres to reduce the high costs incurred in curative care.
