Kisumu Court of appeal on Friday held a pre-trial hearing on an appeal cases challenging the high court verdict on gubernatorial election petitions.
Appeal cases filled by former Kisumu governor Jack Ranguma against Kisumu governor Anyang Nyong’o and IEBC, Former Minister Dr. Ochilo Ayacko against Zachary Okoth Obado and IEBC was on pre-trial on Friday presided by Justice Hannah Okwengu.
Both petitioners are challenging the High court’s verdict on their election petitions and the submission date and hearing of the cases are scheduled on 8/5/2018 for Jack Ranguma and 17/5/2018 for Dr. Ochilo Ayacko.
However Governor Awiti’s pre-trial case is set on 24/4/2018.
Election petitions involving five governors are among 14 appeals filed by the elected leaders who are seeking to overturn High court rulings that went against them.
