On Saturday the 5th May, Kenya’s leading stout beer, Guinness, will bring its legendary Guinness Fanzone to the Simba Union in Kisumu. Local football fans will be treated to live DSTV screenings of English Premier League games on the penultimate weekend of the season. After the games, some of Kenya’s top musicians, including Nameless, Khaligraph Jones, Musa Jakadala and Jua Cali will entertain the crowds with electrifying performances.
The Citizens may have secured the league win this season, but it is an exciting time as teams push to clinch the runner up spots. Crucial matches in the offing will be the Blues against The Reds as well as Red Devil’s game against The Seaguls, Albion.
The Kisumu Fanzone follows two successful fanzone events this football season; legendary footballer and former Gunners striker, Thierry Henry graced the first one in December 2017 during a visit to Nairobi, while the second was in Meru last month.

After the games, the Fanzone Experience will culminate in a night of thrilling entertainment, as local artiste Musa Jakadalla known for Nyar Ahero ’and ‘Hera Remo’ hit songs will entertain the revellers. DJ’s lined up include Joe Mfalme (DJ) Andie (DJ), Kriss Darlin (DJ) and Hassan (DJ). The hosts for the day will be MC Jalango and MC Samora with musicians Khaligraph Jones, Nameless and Jua Cali scheduled to give electrifying performances on stage.
There will be 8-metre by 4-metre viewing screen, reserved comfortable football stadium seating style, play station area with big LED screens and a great range of merchandise up for grabs. For meals consumers will be treated to Guinness infused Nyama Choma, Grilled Chicken amongst others.

Guinness is running a promotion to award over Kshs. 40 Million in prizes to consumers dubbed ‘Choose Your Side.’ The campaign puts to life the idea of ardent football fans having to choose sides when selecting their dream team to support. To participate, consumers will be required to send the number under the crown to 21199. Participation is through “Under the Crown” (UTC) mechanic or the In-bar mechanic where Guinness referees will spot revelers in selected outlets across the country.
