Statement by Dorothy Nyong’o on Jadudi’s medical funds drive.
In August 2015, in a crowd funding campaign dubbed 1milli4Jadudi; Ksh 6, 393,849 was raised for Emmanuel Otieno aka ‘ Jadudi ‘ for a recurring brain tumour.
In a trust deed agreement signed on August 12,2015 between African Cancer Foundation ( the custodian of the funds) and Emmanuel Otieno (beneficiary) parents, it was agreed that ACF would dispense the funds to Emmanuel Otieno to cover his medical expenses.
The money raised has been over the years used for the following;
1. Travel to India for Jadudi and his mother (cost of flight, travel insurance)
2. Accommodation and upkeep in India.
3. Medical Insurance.
4. Medication.
5.Therapies
6.Nutrition
7. Supplements.
All the funds have been disbursed on request by the family and administered directly to JADUDI, his mother and Apollo hospital through ABC bank.
Jadudi travelled to India on 12th February 2018 and was operated on 18th but developed complications that made him stay longer in the ICU and ward warranting high rising bill. This time he over stayed due to health complications. In 2018 alone, ACF has met the bill worth Ksh. 2.9 million NHIF also paid part of the bills and UAP Insurance too.
The family appeals to KENYANS, WELL WISHERS, FRIENDS, and ORGANIZATIONS once more to Kindly help in raising funds for his hospital bills currently standing at 1.2M. JADUDI is still in ICU prompting the high bill to be cleared. Any contribution towards this will be highly appreciated.
