
It was a grand evening of celebration as the KenyaBuzz Movie Week came to an end on Friday evening. The event also served as the grand opening of the Anga Diamond Cinema at Diamond Plaza II which will have Kenya’s first 4D cinema.
It was a great evening of food, cocktails, mingling and of course, a movie. Not just any movie – the biggest movie of 2018, Black Panther!
Ciroc Kenya was one of sponsors that partnered with KenyaBuzz, a local events and lifestyle guide, to host the week-long film extravaganza dubbed the Visa-KenyaBuzz Movie Week. The festival, which ran from March 16th to 23rd of May, comprised of eight theme nights at seven cinemas across Nairobi.The partnership with KenyaBuzz was designed to drive traffic into select theatres while enriching the experience for the movie goers.
KenyaBuzz’s founder Alix Grubel said that the weeklong showcase would act as a platform for the enrichment of the local social scene. “We at KenyaBuzz love everything to do with movies, and we would love to see more people getting out to enjoy the big screen. It is our belief that this partnership will fuel the growth of the industry to the benefit of everyone involved,” said Alix.
Nation Media Group’s Ag. GCEO Mr. Stephen Gitagama said, “Nation Media Group is proud to launch the Movie Week Festival in all theatres across Nairobi through our ticketing platform, Kenyabuzz. This is a first of its kind in this market. We believe this partnership will go a long way to embed a culture of movie going bringing out the spirit of magical entertainment. This week-long film festival has attracted over 3000 people who can efficiently buy a ticket through Kenyabuzz and pay via VISA at their convenience.”
With the ‘Art of celebration’ mantra of Ciroc, connoisseurs got a chance enjoy an exceptional night filled with good music, art, creative photography and most importantly, enjoy the expertise and innovative craftsmanship that goes into Ciroc with its distinctively flavoured variants. The movie nights were themed around various movies, targeted at specific population segments.
