On Monday morning there was drama at the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT)headquarters after KNUT Secretary General Wilson Sossion was barred from accessing his office.
Sossion said that he would institute legal proceedings against those behind his ouster, saying that they had conducted themselves in total defiance of a court order.
While addressing the media outside the Knut offices Sossion said that his nomination as an MP added strength to the teachers’ union.
‘”My nomination to parliament has added strength to the teachers’ union. Teachers have been calling me from across the country, some shedding tears telling me how they are being transferred anyhow. We will institute legal proceedings against my colleagues who are behind this because they went against a court order,” said sossion
He called on teachers to note the goons who had been hired to prevent him from accessing the office by his colleagues who he claimed to have helped to get to their current position.
“I want Kenyan teachers to see the goons hired by my colleagues whom I have, over the years, helped get the positions they have now. They are not attached to any security firm and do not look like security personnel,” he added.
The Knut secretary general has maintained that he is legally in office and that he will not budge to demands for him to vacate office as the secretary-general of KNUT.
