On Friday appearing before Parliamentary Accounts Committee (PAC)  Suspended Youth Affairs PS Lillian Mbogo  claimed that no money was stolen from the National Youth Service (NYS).

She denied citing her basis on the  auditor-general’s report for 2016/17, which she said gave NYS expenditure a clean bill of health. This comes following  the Sh9 billion scandal at the National Youth Service.

On speaking before before Parliamentary Accounts Committee (PAC) she stated that if the Ksh.9 billion had been lost, it would mean NYS  was technically un-operational.

“If at all Ksh.9 billion has been lost, it would mean NYS is technically un-operational. No double payments can be done through IFMIS without noticing it, therefore it is not possible for such money to be lost,” said Lilian

“We spent Sh22.2 billion in 2015/16 on supplies at NYS and Sh2 billion this year.”added Lilian

Omollo mentioned that she was  committed to cooperate with investigating authorities and said she is confident that she will be cleared to go back to work the PAC committee chaired by Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi .
