Ugenya MP pledges to enroll elderly persons in his constituency on NHIF cover.

Ugenya MP Hon. Chris Karan has pledged through his office to enroll all elderly persons in the constituency on NHIF cover.

Hon Karan stated that after the exercise of enrolling the elderly person across the constituency to benefit on a monthly stipend under the social services department, he is going to make sure that they also have health cover.

He says that most elderly persons find it hard to access medical attention due to lac of funds but with the NHIF cover, their health woes will be a thing of the past.

The legislator further revealed that he intends to put up decent shelters for elderly persons living in deplorable houses across the constituency.

He observed that even the senior citizens deserve to have proper shelters just like any other persons in the community.

The law maker was speaking when he visited victims of flood in west and east Ugenya where he donated relief food stuff to the victims.

He also assured them that he is going to ensure that the perennial issue of floods is dealt with once and for all to avoid yearly displacement during heavy rains.
