Kisumu County assembly appointment committee has started the vetting of 11 Kisumu city board members before approval by the county assembly.
The first candidate to take to the floor was Prof. Larry Gumbe who was put to task to clarify how he will tackle issue of corruption within the city and amongst board members.
He was also required to state how he will change the face of Kisumu city and how to bring to an end the problem of hyacinth in Lake Victoria.
Jonh Ombija on his part was put to task on how he would help in upgrading the slam areas found within the city.
Either most of the candidates interviewed found it difficult to state the number of wards within Kisumu County.
The candidates includes Obware Kennedy Akoko, Charles Owuoko Ochomo, Elijah Abdul and Rose Arungu Olende among others.
The vetting that is chaired by the speaker of the Kisumu county assembly Onyango Oloo is expected to end on Wednesday.
