World Celebrates Africa Day 2018

The 25th May is a day set to celebrate Africa ever year, it marks the founding of the Organisation of the Afican Unity which evolved into the African Union 38 years later. This year 2018 it focuses on the Nelson Mandela Centenary, marking one hundred (100) years since the birth. Leaders of 30 of the 32 independent African states signed a founding charter in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia In 1991 today.This years the theme of many events celebrating the Mandela Legecy 1918-forever.
The Ministry of Foreign Affair declared 25th May as the Kenyan and African attire day. acknowledging that Kenya has a wide variety of fabric as well as a wide range of styles and cultural fashion, this urges cultural understanding within Africa and other continents in the globe. This day is also International Missing Children’s Day.
The Nelson Mandela Foundation invites all people to play a part in building a society inspired by the values of the global icon-Nelson Mandela. African in Australia hold an event tomorrow and On Sunday, May 27, a one-day free sporting festival at Herb Graham Recreation Centre in Mirrabooka. The whole exercise is meant to promote peace, love, unity, and cohesion amongst African young people in WA. African countries such as Liberian, South Sudan, Zambia, Congo and Nigeria among others formed part of the celebration.
